The 2019 Toyota Yaris is a nicely packaged subcompact sedan or hatchback, a strong value proposition, and a playful option in a staid segment. Don’t let the badge fool you: The Yaris is actually a Mazda 2 in disguise and handles the corners with aplomb. When the all-new Yaris hatchback arrives later this year, it will share all the mechanicals with the sedan version except for the otherwise standard manual transmission. The hatchback will be shorter than the sedan but provide more cargo space and similar standard features.
